Ingredients 4 cups apple juice 4 cups white sugar 2 tablespoons lemon juice * 1 tablespoon cream of tartar taste DIRECTIONS: Mix apple juice, lemon juice and sugar, bring to a boil. On reaching the boiling point in a cup of cream add your calculation, then place a spoonful of hot syrup, mix well, repeat until the cream of tartar mixed. Then pour in the syrup. (This helps to evenly distribute the cream of tartar, making it soft and smooth). Continue to boil rapidly for 2 minutes. Degrease the foam and pour into sterile jars or bottles HOT. This makes a light syrup (like maple syrup the way). * For your pleasure, you can add more lemon juice to taste tarty. To simplify things, you may receive the lemon grenadine syrup, which is quite nice and use it to spice up your 7-up. I've done it before and it's wonderful! Save a lot of hard work in preparing the house syrup. It is a sweet syrup, so you can add one or two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, just for that extra "kick." Enjoy!
