Light XC / freeride DH or just a good set of mountain biking?
I'm riding an '07 Santa Cruz Superlight, I is the acceleration, speed and ability to ride, but when it comes down the fear I felt I could do something a little more (plus I really want to go a bit). The question is (and assuming I stuck in Santa Cruz and money is not applicable): Should I trade my Superlight something a little more each round as LT or Blur Nomad – or maintaining the SL and go for something and a bullet – or just get a better SL
You must remember that everything that a mountain bike is really a compromise. If you get a BLT or a Nomad, have a great bike no doubt, but will not mount the same as the SL and may leave something to be desired in the department of freeride. If I were you, I remain SL as a XC bike and build a Bullit (or if you have more money, a nomad) in your machine with a Freeride board appointed two 160 or 180 mm travel fork (As a Lyrik, or Totem), and a pair of solid wheels. Two bikes are always better than one: P
