What is the spark plug fires twice, once in the PMS and once in an exhaust stroke?
I a 1999 Mitsubishi Galant with a 2.4 engine L The engine started acting a little at a time until no more could restart the engine all. He acts like he is trying, but work just spits and spits out a few times and dies. I checked the spark and found that said twice as often as it should. Number 1 cyclinder TDC fire again and the exhaust stroke. I checked another cyclinder same sailing too. I replaced the coils, no difference. I suspect the crank position censor, but should send the signal. Is this the command of ECM Modual?
"I can take your car does not have a distributor. What you see is normal, a missed or lost spark ignition system. You have several ignition coils, each package provides a couple of cylinders. Reducing the complexity of the control logic and the number of coils is necessary, two cylinders of the pair are activated simultaneously. As cylinder 360 degrees out of phase, is in the compression and exhaust is another. The spark of the race did not hurt, simply "Lost." As long ast the spark at the right time, everything is fine. Whatever your problem is it looks like its on it works correctly.
