Why Robins standing on the grass during a snowstorm?
There is a snow storm in Ohio minor. This 29-30F here. All birds have fled or roosting geese except (of course) and Robins. They stand around, making no effort to find places protected from wind. What happens to them? This seems very unusual for me, especially for migratory birds.
First, this is not particularly cold Robins are quite difficult small birds. At this temperature, the snow may melt quickly, so that the Robins are waiting for the worms to emerge. They're just after a storm too.
